Position Overview
As a Receptionist, you play a vital role in fostering a welcoming and seamless experience for our guests. In this position, you will excel at greeting customers and managing communications via phone, text, and email, as well as handling appointments and walk-ins. Your knowledge of our piercing services, pricing, and products will enable you to confidently answer any questions and enhance the overall guest experience.
Additionally, you will be responsible for processing payments and overseeing front-of-house operations. With strong multitasking abilities, you’ll demonstrate exceptional communication, problem-solving skills, patience, and empathy, all of which contribute to creating memorable, high-quality customer experiences. You will also effectively manage electronic documents, sales, and guest communications using our Point of Sale (POS) system.
Essential Job Functions:
Front of House Operations
- Ensure the front desk and guest waiting areas are clean and prepared for business operations.
- Maintain all health and safety standards for front-of-house operations, including desks, door handles, jewelry displays, mirrors, and chairs, using proper sanitizing procedures.
- Manage guest communications and inquiries via phone, text, email, and voicemail, responding promptly.
- Leverage your knowledge of our services, products, and pricing to provide accurate information to guests.
- Apply your understanding of our policies, procedures, and health and safety practices to ensure optimal front-of-house operations.
- Accurately process guest payments for products and services using our Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Take ownership of cash register operations, including opening, closing, and ensuring adherence to accurate cash handling procedures.
- Perform regular cleaning and upkeep of studio ensuring that areas remain clean, organized, and presentable. Cleaning tasks include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing tools, surfaces, and shared spaces.
Customer Service Operations
- Deliver exceptional customer service by fostering a positive and inviting environment for guests.
- Utilize multitasking skills to address guest inquiries and assist them in selecting products and services.
- Guide guests through the intake process, including check-in, completing electronic documentation, processing waivers, collecting information, and updating records in Square as needed.
- Manage appointment bookings and schedules in alignment with the availability of piercers and operational needs.
- Provide walk-in guests with information and guidance regarding services, products, piercer availability, and any applicable wait times.
- Maintain effective and ongoing communication with team members to ensure seamless operations and an enhanced customer experience.
Inventory and Equipment Maintenance
- Ensure the front-of-house and desk are stocked with essential supplies for daily operations.
- Verify that all equipment is operational and functioning properly before opening the studio.
Other Job Duties

Physical Demands/Work Environment
The physical requirements for this position include the ability to carry and lift up to 5 pounds frequently, up to 10 pounds regularly, and up to 60 pounds occasionally. Candidates must possess visual acuity, speech, and hearing capabilities, along with hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, computer, keyboard, and basic office equipment. Duties may involve carrying, lifting, twisting, and reaching to perform essential job functions. The working conditions are primarily in an office environment, with occasional travel to other locations. Additionally, the ability to stand for extended periods, up to 8 hours or more per day, is required.
Required Competencies
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong focus on customer service, a commitment to continuous learning, proficiency in communication, a collaborative teamwork orientation, technical aptitude, and critical thinking skills. Bilingual in Spanish required
Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
One year of customer service, cash handling, and strong teamwork orientation experience.
You will have proven skills in basic math, cash handling, and effective communication. They should possess a strong attention to detail and a customer-first approach, along with effective time management and problem-solving abilities. Additionally, the candidate must excel at multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
