What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compliance Engineer position at Fox Racing?
Revelyst is looking for a Product Compliance Engineer to join our Legal Department. In this role, you will handle product regulatory compliance for our Adventure Sports business unit, which includes brands such as CamelBak, Fox Racing, Bell and Giro.
This position will report to our Director, Product Compliance Engineering and is a hybrid position based out of our Irvine, CA location (3 days in office/2-days WFH).
As the Product Compliance Engineer, you will have an opportunity to:
- Collaborate with a cross-functional product development teams to ensure products are compliant.
- Be the “in-house” expert/consultant on all compliance regulations, requirements and industry standards for the brands.
- Navigate compliance regulations and requirements globally, including but not limited to US state and federal, Canada, European Union, APAC, etc.
- Provide consultation to product design, product development, sales, and the rest of the cross-functional team on product compliance regulations and requirements.
- Actively participate in product development meetings and sales meetings to advise on compliance requirements.
- Proactively communicate the upcoming or changing product compliance regulations and requirements to product and development teams and manufacturing partners.
- Stay aware of changes in the regulatory environment to minimize the impact to the business.
- Manage product changes required to remain in compliance with global laws and regulations.
- Support product compliance team and legal in submission of global mandatory reports to regulatory bodies when necessary (Prop 65, CPSC, Health Canada).
- Review marketing materials and claims including web content, marketing campaigns, consumer packaging materials as necessary.
- Communicate with independent third-party laboratories on test reports and standard interpretations.
- Arrange and document third-party testing to ensure product compliance and recertification including mandatory chemical testing of children’s products
- Review and approve first production samples, labeling, manuals, warnings, claims substantiation and packaging, to ensure compliance to regulations/laws.
- Manage testing to internal processes for chemical and mechanical performance requirements and assist in updating those processes.
- Manage retailer and license products program requirements and apply to vendor operations and products.
- Plan and administer the brand compliance testing budget.
- Support the implementations of special projects related to compliance activities as assigned.

- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build and establish a rapport with a diverse array of people.
You have:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science.
- 2 years' experience in a consumer products safety, regulatory, or compliance role.
- Experience with consumer product laboratory testing preferred.
- Experience working with third party testing labs to coordinate product evaluation, certification, and compliance.
- Experience with industry standards including ASTM, ANSI, ISO, etc
- Experience with the product compliance and safety considerations of apparel, food-contact, and/or electronics
- Understanding of regulatory framework, with strong experience with regulatory issues as it applies to manufacturing and consumer products.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong project management and prioritization skills.
Salary : $100,000 - $110,000
