What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Nursing – Full time position at Fox Run at Orchard Park?
DIRECTOR OF NURSING: Full-time. Responsible for the operations and programs of the nursing care unit. Directs, coordinates and supervises all clinical staff. Maintains and ensures compliance with NYS DOH regulations. Responsible for monitoring appropriate job performance and completion of evaluations and counseling of staff.
Qualifications
1. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred. MSN is desirable.
2. Minimum of five years of long term care nursing preferred. Minimum of eight years of nursing experience required, with at least three of those years falling within the last five years.
3. Three years of supervisory experience preferred.
4. Must have knowledge of New York State Department of Health regulations and vast experience with survey processes.
5. Holds a current, unencumbered registered nursing license to practice in the State of New York.
6. CPR certification.
7. Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care primarily to the geriatric population.
Degree of Travel
Travel required for occasional educational programs, community activities and hospital visits.
Disruption to Routine
Disruption to routine is to be expected frequently. May be required to be on-call for resident care back log and staff needs.
Safety Hazards in Job
High stress, exposure to potentially hazardous secretions or environments. May be required occasionally to lift equipment.
Salary range $100,000 – $115,000
