HOUSEKEEPING MANAGER | OPERATIONS | FULL TIME

The Fox Theatre in Atlanta is seeking a Full Time Housekeeping Manger.

The Housekeeping Manager will oversee the day to day housekeeping of the theatre, including the interior and exterior of the building, ensuring a safe, clean, and sanitary environment for the Fox Theatre. By directly supervising all housekeeping staff and housekeeping contracts, this position ensures efficient, timely and safe completion of work, compliance with codes and standards, consideration for preservation and restoration expectations, and an elevation of the guest experience. 

Major Responsibilities:

• Hire, train, schedule, and supervise all internal and contracted housekeeping personnel. Evaluate, develop, and coach housekeeping personnel to ensure effective application of cleaning protocols and alignment with Fox Theatre standards; maintaining positive working relationships with housekeeping contractors and vendors;
• Create weekly event cleaning schedules and long-term recurring cleaning schedules with an attention to the event schedule and organizations' needs, and while achieving department budget objectives. This includes deep cleaning projects on monthly, quarterly, or an annual basis. Create work assignments to ensure timely completion, maximum efficiency, satisfactory work, and compliance with safety standards and codes;
• Develop and implement protocols for effective cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting the Fox Theatre interior and exterior, with an understanding and emphasis on historic spaces, materials, and finishings, and preservation and restoration expectations, that meets agreed upon standards (like Global Biorisk Advisory Council, OSHA, etc.). Train all housekeeping personnel in the safe and proper usage of all housekeeping supplies and equipment based on those standards;
• Conduct inspections on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to identify safety concerns, cleaning needs, or necessary repairs and maintain regular cleaning logs and audits. Use applicable industry standard software or technologies to maintain inspections and logs;
• Purchase and maintain all housekeeping goods, supplies, and equipment as necessary for effective operations. Routinely inspect all housekeeping equipment for proper usage;
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:

• High School Diploma or GED;
• 5-7 Years of experience in management or supervisory role in housekeeping and standardized cleaning protocols;
• Have or be willing to obtain a Global Biorisk Advisory Council Accreditation.

Education and Experience Preferred:

• Experience in a historic building; 
• OSHA Safety & Health Specialist Certificate.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications:

• Strong interpersonal skills; 
• Ability to read, interpret, and create documents such as safety rules, standard operating procedures, manuals, schedules, and more;
• Proficiency in the following computer skills and systems: Microsoft Suite including Office365 and work-order systems;
• Detail-Oriented and accustomed to multi-tasking.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications:

• Experience with Personnel Hiring, Coaching, Developing & Evaluating;
• Ability to successfully interface with key vendors and contractors.

Essential Physical Requirements:

• Extended periods during which there is continuous physical exertion required;
• Must be able to frequently traverse the building including moving between multiple floors and ascending/descending stairs;
• Must be able to ascend/descend a ladder;
• Must be able to lift materials or equipment up to 50 pounds and must be able to pull/push/move up to 100 pounds with assistance if necessary. 

Physical Location Requirements:

• This position requires the employee to be physically on-site to perform their required duties;
• Off-site requirements include but are not limited to traveling for education and training, site visits, meetings, and warehouse oversight;
• This position requires work inside and outside in all types of weather with fluctuations in temperature and conditions. 

Other Requirements:

• Requirement to work extended or irregular hours including evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed;
• Successful applicants must be able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment background check.
