Our opportunity:
Fox Valley Fire & Safety Co. is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to facilitate the day-to-day accounting functions, including payroll, within our established procedures and according to accounting standards. This employee will manage our team of accounting department employees, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and collections coordinators. Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain general ledger
- Reconcile bank statements and accounts
- Provide assistance to external auditors with providing account information and documentation
- Assist with the preparation of tax filing
- Manage accounting systems, Profit Zoom and municipal billing system
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
- Perform month end, quarterly and year end close functions
- Prepare monthly Product Sales Report
- Prepare daily cash flow report
- Prepare weekly Aging Report
- Coding invoices with correct GL accounts
- Payroll Processing
- Maintain accurate records, control reports, and internal procedures
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable department employees
- Oversee collection efforts and activities
- Ensure that operational criterion is reflected in the accounts receivable functions
- Update receivables by monitoring and coordinating all processing performed on orders that are delivered daily including transactions such as bank remittances
- Monitor expenditures and implement corrective steps by identifying significant variances
- Direct and lead the work of others in the department
- Maintain company confidentiality at all times
- Update of accounts, new customers, multiple locations, recurring billing
- Update monitoring & testing contracts
Who we are looking for:
- The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- You'll bring 5 years of related experience - Accounting and Supervisory/Management to this role
- Excellent attention to detail
- Superior spreadsheet skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Prior background in an Accounts Receivable position
- Self-starter with a proven track record of multi-tasking abilities, you are highly organized with great follow-up skills
- Expertise with various types of accounting software platforms
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly skilled and proficient at verifying financial or transactional data
Compensation offered: This role offers a base salary of $80,000 - $100,000 based on experience. We offer comprehensive benefits with major medical/dental/vision insurance coverage from day 1 of hire for the employee and dependents. Fox Valley Fire & Safety Co. also offers ancillary benefits such as STD, LTD, employer-paid life insurance policy, 401k/Roth IRA. Our company is 100% employee owned. Employees become eligible for the ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) after one year of employment.
