Accounts Payable Coordinator
Full Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt, Benefits Offered
Onsite in Elgin, IL
The Accounts Payable Coordinator at Fox Valley Fire & Safety is an integral part of our Finance team. They play a critical role in ensuring our vendors receive proper payment to ensure continued workflow for the business. They will provide light accounting support and assist with month-end close. Ahe individual that will fill this role should be an organized team player willing to learn all about the fire and life safety industry, with some background in A/P.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review, code and record daily vendor invoices and employee reimbursements, ensuring proper approval prior
- Reconcile accounts payable using vendor statements
- Research and correct invoice discrepancies
- Manage accounts payable using accounting software and other programs
- Handling accounts payable for separate entities and vendors
- Analyzing workflow processes
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors
- Ensuring bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to the departmental procedures
- Comparing purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges
- Processing transactions and performing accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries and reconciling books of accounts
- Maintain files and documents according to company policies and accounting practices
- Assist in month-end closing
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
To perform this job successfully the following computer proficiency are required:
- Functional knowledge of ERP Systems, Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks or any other specialty system needed to properly perform job functions.
- Minimum typing ability of 40 words per minute.
- Ability to learn and utilize new and existing computer software in a proficient and timely manner.

Compensation: This role offers an hourly non-exempt pay structure between $21.00 – 23.00 hourly based on experience. This role offers full benefits. PTO, paid holidays, and paid sick days.
