Job Description:
Inspection, testing, installation and maintenance of Off Road Equipment and their Fire Suppression Systems. This employee will work on heavy duty construction equipment, mining excavation equipment, and more.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspection, testing and service of Fire Protection equipment.
- Identify corrective actions necessary to bring properties into compliance with applicable fire codes, laws, regulations, and standard, and explain these measures to properly owners or their representatives.
- Attend training classes to maintain current knowledge of fire prevention, safety and manufacturers procedures.
- Respond to service and emergency calls. Off-hour/weekend work is driven only by customer demand.
- Conduct fire code compliance follow-ups to ensure that corrective actions have been taken in cases where violations were found.
- Write reports of fire inspections performed, fire code violations observed and corrective recommendations offered.
- Inspect and test fire protection to verify that such systems are installed in accordance with appropriate laws, codes, ordinances, regulations, and standards.
- Review of prescheduled route to prepare for the next day start time, material required and any other material or information required daily.
- Occasional office visits to drop-off or pick-up parts, products or materials to complete pre-scheduled route.
- Visit customer’s site to inspect, repair, maintain, install, or sell products or systems.
- Converse with clientele regarding status of existing products or system and promote and sell repairs, additional services, systems or any other product or system the company provides.
- Maintain all proper required licensing to perform job duties.
- Knowledge of proper usage of commonly used tools and their safe operation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
To perform this job successfully the following physical abilities are required:
- Sit or stand for several hours at a time.
- Move about with ease. Example given: walking, standing, etc.
- Service equipment from multiple locations. Example given: kneeling, bending, squatting, balancing, and placing body in adverse positions, etc.
- Lift or move approximately fifty pounds per day, but up to 150 pounds.
- Reliable sight, hearing, verbal communication, and touch.
- Work from ladders and platform lifts.
The employee hired will complete MSHA and OSHA 10 certifications, obtain class I license, and additional certifications/licensures as directed by the company.
Potential client site locations include
Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan or other locations as directed.
Compensation: This role is an hourly role with overtime pay consistently available. Starting pay is based on experience but typically starting at $23.00 per hour with subsequent raises available upon completion certifications and annual reviews, to be determined by the Company.
