Job Description Summary
This position provides technical support for FVTC's Learning Management System (LMS), Blackboard, including online assessments and all instructional web tools, as well as the live virtual course delivery system. The employee in this position supports both students and faculty by ensuring seamless LMS functionality and assisting with related technical issues. Additionally, the employee is responsible for scheduling and administering the online course evaluation system, while collecting and maintaining statistics for all FVTC classes and system-wide evaluations. Key responsibilities include data analysis, creating custom reports, troubleshooting system issues, and acting as the primary liaison with software support teams.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily to be qualified for the position. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Administer the Learning Management System (LMS) and provide technical support to students, faculty, and staff. This includes troubleshooting student enrollments, monitoring course management for online, hybrid, virtual, and in-person classes, and offering guidance to faculty.
Manage the online course evaluation system, coordinating resources, overseeing custom evaluations, and generating reports to meet departmental needs across the college.
Serve as the primary point of contact with software support teams and provide technical support for the Learning Management System (LMS), including troubleshooting student enrollments, course management, and assisting faculty, staff, and students.
Collaborate with faculty and academic leadership to design, develop, and maintain LMS program organizations, ensuring they meet the functional needs of departments and student groups.
Compile and analyze statistics on capacity, utilization, student enrollment, and retention for flexible learning and distance education courses.
Provide training for faculty and students on the use of the LMS, live virtual course delivery systems, course evaluation systems, and third-party instructional tools.
Conduct technical research and testing to support the development and improvement of the online learning environment and evaluate software solutions and third-party application integrations for enhanced production efficiency.
Lead projects related to the LMS and learning initiatives, providing project management and leadership to team members and stakeholders.
Maintain and support application systems that meet project specifications, adhering to operational standards, software development guidelines, and procedures.
Stay updated on emerging software and AI technologies that impact instructional needs and apply expertise in managing Blackboard-related projects.
Provide frontline technical support for all LMS end users, ensuring seamless operation and user satisfaction.
Non-Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Assist in developing processes and procedures for online delivery while identifying potential obstacles to their implementation.
Provide support to faculty in the design and development of online courses.
Assist in creating the operational plan for each fiscal year.
Serve as the liaison with the web services team.
Conduct environmental checks, including during evenings and weekends.
Ensure the course roster synchronizer is functioning properly for seamless operation.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Associate Degree in Information Technology required.
Two to three years of recent, relevant experience in LMS development and evaluation technologies.
Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements:
Strong skills in business writing.
Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record check.
Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Strong oral and written communication abilities, including active listening skills.
Flexibility in work schedule is required.

Physical Requirements
Sitting: This role requires extended periods of sitting while performing tasks and utilizing computer systems.
Mobility: While much of the work is desk-based, occasional mobility may be necessary for attending meetings, office tours, or events within the workplace.
Repetitive Motions: Capacity to perform repetitive motions, such as typing, without discomfort or injury.
Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with employees, candidates, and stakeholders, both in-person and through electronic means.

Additional Information
Pay Rate: $30.72 per hour.
Pay is based on a multitude of factors, including experience, qualifications, education, relevant certifications, internal equity, and market data. Note: Internal applicants' wage will be based upon the applicable compensation guidelines.
