This role involves daily interaction with various animals, ensuring their needs are met while maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kennel.
Duties
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and exercising.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and common spaces by performing regular cleaning tasks.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the supervisor or veterinary staff.
- Assist with grooming tasks as needed, including bathing and brushing pets.
- Handle animals safely and effectively using proper restraint techniques when necessary.
- Support pet owners by providing information about services offered and answering questions regarding animal care.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to animal handling and care.
Requirements
- Experience in animal care or handling is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for handling larger breeds or moving supplies.
- Knowledge of basic pet grooming techniques is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and pet owners.
