The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating in ambiguous environments, have experience crafting processes, and be able to manage tasks without predefined guidelines. This role will support our operations in Wisconsin and Hong Hai USA, contributing to the development of our labor and employment legal framework as we expand our services to additional sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle labor and employment law matters, including drafting and implementing HR policies.
- Provide legal counsel on corporate matters, including general transactions and employment-related issues.
- Advise on EOC questions, exempt and non-exempt salary requirements, and new harassment/discrimination regulations.
- Stay updated on federal and state labor laws, including recent changes and best practices.
- Assist with visa applications (H1B, F1, O1) and manage related legal processes.
- Handle discrimination cases and other employment-related legal matters.
- Draft corporate policies for national and multinational companies, considering cultural differences.
- Develop and implement processes in areas where guidelines are not yet fully defined.
- Operate effectively in ambiguous situations and contribute to the creation of new procedures.
- Support the Wisconsin and Hong Hai USA operations with labor employment law expertise.
- Balance existing procedures with the creation of new ones to meet evolving business needs.
- Manage and prioritize tasks across different locations as the company expands.
- JD degree from an accredited law school.
- 1-3 years of experience in labor and employment law.
- Strong understanding of HR-related legal issues.
- Experience with visa applications and high approval rates.
- Knowledge of labor laws in various states (Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Texas, Wisconsin, and California).
- Excellent research and communication skills.
- Proven experience in creating and refining processes within an organization.
- Comfort with operating in gray areas and managing tasks without predefined guidelines.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and work in a dynamic environment.
- Mandarin language skills (preferred but not required).
- Experience in both law firm and in-house settings.
- Background in handling discrimination cases and providing HR legal support.
- Understanding of cultural differences in multinational companies.
- Experience with drafting corporate policies for national or multinational companies.
- Proven ability to handle dispute claims effectively.
