Job Description: General Maintenance
Classification: Full Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt
Reports to: Facilities Manager
Job Summary:
The purpose of this position is to troubleshoot and perform equipment repair and maintenance, and building repairs in collaboration with the Sr. Operations Manager, Facilities Manager and the Maintenance Team. Generally, the Maintenance Technician should provide imparting knowledge in all aspects of facilities maintenance and be an integral part of the maintenance team which assists with the routine maintenance and upkeep to facility and grounds to provide students, faculty and staff with a safe and comfortable environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Evaluate needs, project and manage tasks identified by the Sr. Operations Manager.
· Assists in the maintenance, installation and care of facility infrastructure including all building systems, utility services, mechanical, electrical, carpentry, painting and plumbing systems.
· Continually assess and evaluate the physical condition and performance of the campus buildings. Troubleshoot, develop and prioritized preventative maintenance, corrective strategies to prevent and solve problems.
· Enforce safety regulations and requirements.
· Take ownership and be accountable for assigned job responsibilities.
· Work in collaboration with maintenance team.
· Be responsive. Follow through on commitments.
· Promote a positive work environment that supports the goals and objectives of the School.
· Respond to emergency situations which may arise on a daily basis.
· Provide support as requested or required for special events.

Qualifications and Expectations:
· Minimum high school diploma, prefer certifications in fields of mechanical, electrical or carpentry field and/or vocational education.
· A minimum of 5-years’ experience with concentration in the mechanical, electrical or carpentry field.
· Interaction with the school community is essential.
· Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical and organizational skills.
· Successfully, time efficiently, finish tasks with attention to fine details.
· Strong customer-service orientation.
· Ability to work independently and as a part of a high-performing team with exceptional initiative.
· Organizational skills and ability to maintain safe and clean immediate working area and areas that are assigned, located in the School’s maintenance shop.
· Meets or exceeds deadlines, demonstrates effective use of time, handles multiple assignments simultaneously, and has the ability to forecast/plan work efforts.
· Attend departmental meetings.
· Ensure compliance with OSHA and ADA regulations.
· Willingness and ability to have a flexible work schedule; normally M-F with possible 1 weekend a month on call.
· Appreciation of and commitment to single sex and boarding school education.
Other Qualifications:· Valid driver’s license.· All prospective employees must be able to clear a finger print and background check. Physical Work Environment:

Exposure to weather conditions: Snow removal, working outside.
Heights: Extension ladders (two stories) are used when making building repairs.
Lift: May be required to lift heavy objects.
Protective clothing or gear required on a regular or continuous basis for this position: Gloves,protective hearing, vision shield and glasses, winter clothing, protective suit and gloves for snaking pipes, dust mask.
