Foxdale Village includes 57 apartments and 148 cottages for independent living and offers a range of health services. This includes an onsite physician office, 46 private rooms for skilled nursing short term rehabilitation, and memory care, and 55 private rooms in personal care accommodations.
We currently have an opportunity for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) or a Direct Care Worker to join our Personal Care nursing team. Currently we have a Full-Time position and expected work 80 hours per every two weeks, working night shits (10:00pm - 6:30am) as well as rotating every other weekend and holiday.
CNA/Direct Care Worker Job Summary:
Responsible for delivering effective care to residents when needed. This includes answering call bells, completing documentation, maintaining confidentiality, develop relationships with residents, and identifying and reporting problems with residents and equipment.

Essential Job Functions:
- Provide individualized care as outlined in the plan of care and as assigned by the Charge Nurse (CN) confidently, effectively, and in a timely manner.
- Work cooperatively with other Health Services staff and voluntarily assist co-workers and residents.
- Respond to call bells and other safety devices within a reasonable amount of time, acknowledge residents’ requests, and deliver residents’ messages to the proper person.
- Assist residents in need of assistance during mealtimes.
- Participate in activities, programs, and incorporate rehabilitation principles into delivery of care to the residents.
- Assume responsibility for and complete required documentation legibly and in a timely manner.
- Carry out procedures as taught and defined in procedure and policy manuals.
- Maintain confidentiality of the residents.
- Participate in employee in-service education programs and safety drills.
- Exhibit a friendly, caring approach while dealing with staff, residents, and residents’ family members.
- Encourage stimulating conversation with each resident.
- Recognize and report changes in residents’ physical, psychological, and social well-being to the Charge Nurse (CN).
- Suggest alternatives to general resident care when appropriate.
- Identify and report problems with equipment or other hazards immediately upon discovery.
- Observe safety procedures such as fire, hygiene, and emergency.
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently and correctly.
- Maintain a neat and appropriate personal appearance.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance in order to meet the daily health care needs of the residents.
- Provide escort services to outside appointments, as needed.
Requirements
Education: High school diploma or its equivalent and completion of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program.
Experience: Prior experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant is preferred
Physical: Intermittent physical activity including walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting at least fifty pounds (with assistance when needed), and supporting the residents.
Training: Certification from the Pennsylvania Department of Health or certification from a state other than Pennsylvania with proof of transferring certification to Pennsylvania. Possession of a valid CPR card is required.
Additional Requirements: Must possess strong attention to detail and time management skills.
