Foxdale Village includes 57 apartments and 148 cottages and offers a range of health services with 46 beds in skilled nursing for short and long-term care, two memory care neighborhoods, and 55 beds in personal care, all with private accommodations. We currently have an opportunity for a new Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team.
We are hiring for a Part-Time position and expected work 24 hours per week in the evenings (3:00pm – 11:30pm), totaling to 3 8-hour shifts per week and every other weekend.
Job Summary:
Participate in planning, delivering, and developing resident care. This includes communication to assure efficient care and documentation of care.

Essential Job Functions:
- Participate in the planning and delivery of individualized nursing care utilizing the primary caregiver approach.
- Participate in the development, review and update of an individualized interdisciplinary care utilizing the primary caregiver’s approach.
- Assume responsibility for and complete required documentation in a timely and legible manner.
- Communicate effectively through written and non-written methods to assure continuity of care and efficiency in work responsibilities.
- Demonstrate clinical competence in the use of specialized equipment and implementation of nursing care procedures.
- Participate in the development of procedures and standards of care relative to resident care and use of specialized equipment.
- Administer medications (exception: I.V. medications) as prescribed by the physician following policies and procedures. The LPN may administer I.V. medications if he or she has been certified to do so, following Foxdale Village’s I.V. policies.
- Respect individual abilities, knowledge, and skill of both residents and staff.
- Foster a collaborative approach in working relationships with other Health Services staff, as well as the residents, their families and friends, and other departments.
- Uphold the rights of the residents and ensure confidentiality.
- Utilize the nursing process.
- Instruct Health Services staff members as needed in order to ensure safe and competent care.
- Utilize principles of infection control and instruct others as needed.
- Demonstrate and encourage use of proper body mechanics with safe lifting and transfer techniques.
- Participate in self and staff evaluations.
- Participate in staff development programs and in committees as assigned.
- Maintain a neat and appropriate personal appearance.
- Maintain punctuality and regular and predictable attendance in order to meet the daily healthcare needs of residents.
Requirements
Education: Graduate of accredited school of practical nursing. Recent graduates of an LPN program are eligible for employment at Foxdale Village before they take their Board exam, if they present a graduate permit.
Experience: Knowledge and competency in the administration of medications as well as procedures relative to the delivery of nursing care. Minimum of one year of work experience as an LPN is preferred. Ability to make decisions consistent with Pennsylvania scope of practice for a Licensed Practical Nurse and Foxdale Village policies and procedures.
Language: Must be able to effectively communicate in English.
Math: Must be able to complete tasks and drug calculations using basic mathematical skills.
Computer: Computer skills required for completing electronic incident reports and accessing electronic medical records.
Training: Current license to practice nursing in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Practical Nurse. Must possess a valid CPR card.
