Foxdale Village, a Life Plan Community guided by Quaker values, is a non-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) located in State College, PA. Foxdale was founded in 1985 by members of the State College Friends Meeting on the values of treating all persons with dignity and respect. Foxdale is regarded as a premier healthcare facility both locally and nationally and has been voted "Best Retirement Community in State College, PA" for many years. Foxdale Village includes 57 apartments and 148 cottages and offers a range of health services with 46 beds in skilled nursing for short and long-term care, two memory care neighborhoods, and 55 beds in personal care, all with private accommodations. We currently have an opportunity for a new Residency Planning Counselor to join our team.


We are hiring for a Full-Time position, expected to work 40 hours per week: Monday through Friday from 8:30AM – 5:00PM with occasional weekends or evenings as needed. 


Job Summary:

Serve as the primary source of information for prospective residents interested in the independent living areas. Manage and cultivate prospects from inquiry through the application and admissions process to move-in. Provide marketing support and develop strategies to manage leads, maintain and grow a ready source of prospects. Anticipate residence openings and prepare new admissions in accordance with the established timeline so that occupancy is sustained at budgeted levels.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Respond to inquiries; maintain regular contact and develop ongoing relationships with prospective residents; gain understanding of their retirement living goals.

2. Counsel prospective residents and use discovery process to guide them through the decision-making process; provide insight into the philosophy of the community; communicate effectively with others involved, such as adult children, caregivers, financial planners, etc.

3. Acquire and maintain knowledge of the benefits of Foxdale Village to market effectively; gather financial information for the purpose of qualifying prospects and making recommendations for residency. 

4. Use creativity and relational sales techniques and strategies to engage and address barriers and objections presented by prospective residents.

5. Consistently attain sales activity goals, such as completed calls, appointments and tours.

6. Provide tours of the community to prospects and others.

7. Assist in planning and implementing marketing events as outlined by the Director of Residency Planning/Marketing. This includes coordinating event needs with other departments, set-up and breakdown of events, and follow-up on areas requiring attention after the event.

8. Make sales presentations one-on-one and to groups on and off campus; participate in planning and pursuing opportunities to market Foxdale Village to the greater community through a variety of community outreach programs. In consultation with Director of Residency Planning/Marketing, represent Foxdale Village on community boards and other community groups as appropriate.

9. Maintain current records of contacts, prospective residents and their families; consistently and accurately enter information into the database using CRM software; compile data and reports as needed; maintain a current Priority List and Ready List that most accurately reflects levels of interest in the community.

10. Gather all necessary information from prospective residents during admissions process and process applications, withdrawals, and refunds in an accurate and timely manner.

11. Explain, prepare and deliver Resident Continuing Care Agreements, policies and procedures to incoming residents in a timely manner and with 100% accuracy.

12. Assist with refurbishment choices, options and customization for prospective residents as needed.

13. Ensure that residences are 100% ready for occupancy prior to the arrival the new residents. Communicate and coordinate with Housekeeping, Maintenance and I.T. Departments to ensure readiness of residences.

14. Participate in the development, update and implementation of the five-year strategic marketing plan.

15. Assist in the development of the Residency Planning/Marketing budget.

16. Participate with the marketing team and consultants in the development of public relations, marketing and collateral materials, website, and other written communications such as newsletters and press releases. Coordinate with other department directors and staff on interdepartmental matters.

17. Maintain and continually update knowledge of the Fair Housing Act ensuring adherence to regulations and guidelines by any person designated to interact with the public on behalf of the Residency Planning/Marketing Department.

18. Ensure confidentiality of all resident information; share on a need-to-know basis.

Requirements

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a closely related field or equivalent experience. Knowledge of selling and marketing strategies to consumers of intangible products or services. 

Experience: Two to three years of related experience, preferably in a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC).

Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to effectively and professionally interact with residents, prospective residents, and staff members; problem-solving skills and ability to use effective sales strategies and techniques; computer skills that include word-processing, desktop publishing and database software; strong written and verbal communication skills; effective organizational and time management skills.

Language: Must be able to effectively communicate in English.

Math: Must be able to complete tasks using basic mathematical skills.

Other: Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.
