Job Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and reporting on the costs associated with manufacturing processes, products, and operations within a company. They will perform assessments and offer explanations for inconsistencies related to work in progress and transactions within the ERP system. Subsequently, they will compile the findings into a report to succinctly clarify and explain the data and share them among teams.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Comprehend and perform analysis of transactions within the ERP system to determine the impact on the company’s financial performance.
- Assess Work In Progress to ensure precise allocation of labor and materials and proactive analysis of variance categories such as material usage, purchase price, and freight.
- Execute month-end system closing transactions and reconciliation of General Ledger accounts.
- Monitor capital expenditures and assist with monthly depreciation entries.
- Assist in overseeing inventory management, including monitoring levels, conducting standard cost changes, reconciling discrepancies, reviewing weekly cycle counts, and assisting in leading the annual physical inventory process.
- Prepare and present financial reports, cost analysis reports, and other management reports to support decision-making.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of financial analyst experience in a manufacturing environment with a progressive increase in responsibility.
- Experience in serving as the subject matter expert in ERP systems for accounting functions and transaction flows across departments.
- Administration and usage of Microsoft Power BI, Power Query, or other analytics tools preferred.
- Experience reading and writing M or SQL code preferred.
Skills and Proficiencies
- Knowledge of ERP systems and asset tracking software.
- Capable of speaking, presenting, and interacting with all levels in the organization.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Suite Products.
- Knowledge and understanding of GAAP.
- Exemplary ethics and integrity, with the capacity to handle sensitive and confidential data.
- Focused on details and committed to accuracy.
- Strong time management, organization, and prioritizing skills.
