Noble Company, a subsidiary of FPC International, Inc., is seeking an organized, collaborative and detail oriented individual to join our Noble Company team as the Supply Chain Specialist. In this leadership role, the Supply Chain Specialist will oversee the procurement of materials, manage vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, and ensure optimal inventory levels to support production, financial accuracy, and new product initiatives.

Location: Spring Lake, MI, in-office (7300 Enterprise Dr.)
Work Schedule: Day shift (M-F, 8 hours/day)
Reports to: Vice President of Operations (who is located onsite).
Team Dynamics: On a team working closely with other key leaders in Operations, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Accounting.
Travel: Less than 10% (if at all)
Certifications: APICS, CSCP, or CPSM certified is preferred

The ideal candidate will bring experience in purchasing and inventory control within a manufacturing environment.

What you’ll be doing:
- Will actively source suppliers and manage all vendor relationships in relation to inventory of materials.
- Negotiates pricing for services and raw material suppliers, including commodity items.
- Works with the Production Supervisor to balance inventory levels in conjunction with production needs.
- Manages inventory levels at multiple locations and the transfer of goods between inventory locations.
- Works in conjunction with the production team to understand production schedules and raw material needs.
- Places purchase orders and works alongsite opearations team to verify inventory.
- Acts as a liaison between internal quality and external suppliers to resolve issues with defective, unacceptable, or returned goods.
Background you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or closely related field.
- A minimum of five (5) or more years of purchasing and inventory control experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with purchasing commodity raw materials.
- Solid understanding of root cause analysis.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the use of the internet.
- Experience working in a LEAN environment with pull systems preferred.
