Our client is seeking a skilled and dynamic attorney to serve as Assistant General Counsel.
In this key leadership role, the attorney will oversee legal matters related to the negotiation, administration, and compliance of our government contracts portfolio. This position reports directly to the Vice President and Chief Counsel.
- Lead legal matters related to negotiation, administration, and compliance for our client’s government contracts portfolio.
- Provide legal expertise and training on government contracting issues.
- Offer business-centric legal counsel across all levels of our client’s contracts and pricing and business management organizations.
- Counsel and collaborate with the leadership team, including vice presidents, on strategic and operational matters.
- Draft, review, and advise on agreements such as teaming agreements, NDAs, MOUs, and other non-standard contracts.
- Support unique commercial supply chain contract terms, including cybersecurity, supplier quality, warranty, and prime contract flow-down requirements.
- Integrate business-oriented advice into legal counsel to proactively address and mitigate potential risks.
- Provide assistance on other significant legal and business matters as needed, including operations, facilities, intellectual property, or ethics.
- Requires a Juris Doctor degree, 10 years of government contracts law experience, and Virginia State Bar membership (or eligibility for corporate counsel license).
- Must have active or obtainable security clearance.
