Position Summary:
A leading manufacturer is seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Transportation to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety programs that ensure the secure and efficient transportation of people and goods. This role oversees all aspects of transportation safety, regulatory compliance, risk management, and safety culture across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and lead comprehensive transit safety programs in alignment with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, and industry-aligned best practices for transportation operations.
- Oversee audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments; implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Manage and deliver training programs for drivers, maintenance staff, and support teams to ensure safety compliance.
- Analyze performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for targeted improvements.
- Maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies, industry groups, and internal stakeholders.
- Champion a proactive and collaborative safety culture throughout the organization.
- Ensure consistent enforcement and compliance with safety standards across all operations.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a transportation safety leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and other transportation safety regulations.
- Demonstrated success managing multi-site or large-scale safety programs.
- Exceptional decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
