The Fund for Public Health in New York City, (FPHNYC) is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to the advancement of the health and well-being of all New Yorkers.  To this end, in partnership with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), FPHNYC incubates innovative public health initiatives implemented by DOHMH to advance community health throughout the city. It facilitates partnerships, often new and unconventional, between government and the private sector to develop, test, and launch new initiatives. These collaborations speed the execution of demonstration projects, effect expansion of successful pilot programs, and support rapid implementation to meet the public health needs of individuals, families, and communities across New York City.   PROGRAM OVERVIEW   The Office of School Health (OSH) is a joint program of the Department of Education and the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, responsible for promoting the health of nearly 1 million school children enrolled in approximately 1,800 public and non-public schools in the New York City. The OSH Adolescent Health Unit (AHU) is responsible for the programmatic oversight of all school-based health centers (SBHCs) in New York City, as well as special initiatives serving adolescents in public schools. Through training, technical assistance, and monitoring activities, AHU works to ensure that all SBHCs provide comprehensive primary care services, including mental health and sexual and reproductive health services.     POSITION OVERVIEW   The Program Associate for Training and Special Initiatives will work under the direction of the Director & Assistant Directors of Training at the NYCDOHMH’s Office of School Health (OSH).  Primary responsibilities of SBHC Training Unit Program Associate include but are not limited to coordinating daily operations & logistics of the training unit activities; maintaining e-files and tracking systems; interfacing with training vendors and attendees; and making recommendations for improvement in collaboration with the training unit leadership. This is a hybrid position.   RESPONSIBILITIES  Under the supervision of the Director/Asst. Director/Training Manager of SBHC Training Unit will work closely with internal AHU staff to assist in the uniform implementation of trainings to enhance school-based staffs’ knowledge and skills on an array of mental health and reproductive health topics.  Responsible for working closely with a select group of training vendors to ensure that all operational and logistical requirements are met to ensure seamless delivery of trainings. Manage the programs training calendar maintaining up-to-date calendar schedule to ensure seamless delivery of 60-80 trainings (virtual & in-person) per school year to school based interdisciplinary staff. Track and implement the daily operational activities required for maintaining the training programs web-base registration system including interfacing with systems vendor to troubleshoot issues as they arise.  Responsible for maintaining positive customer service interactions including trouble-shooting issues as the arise with training registrations and post training activities (dissemination of resources, certificates of attendance, etc.) Planning and coordinating training unit administrative procedures and systems and devising ways to streamline processes to maximize efficiency. Ensure the smooth, adequate, and timely flow of information to training vendors to facilitate smooth training unit operations.    Coordinate incoming and outgoing training unit electronic mail maintaining effective and timely customer service to school-based staff with training related inquiries to resolve any concerns/questions that arise.  Prepare data reports to inform internal quality improvement discussions related to trainings. Oversee the procurement of program materials via print jobs and purchases through OSH or the Fund for Public Health New York (FPHNY).    Coordinate and monitors training event logistics including space procurement, maintaining e-files, preparing training material, monitoring training registration and troubleshooting issues. Assisting with special projects as needed related to existing community stakeholders.  Other related duties and projects assigned by the Director/Asst. Director of the AHU Training Unit.   QUALIFICATIONS  Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 1 year of experience coordinating programs. Knowledge and experience with training/event planning and coordinating with vendors and external audiences is preferred. Excellent knowledge and experience working with excel spreadsheets to manage data and event calendars. Excellent written and communications skills, including the ability to interact with community stakeholders. Ability to interpret training data, analyze training attendance/registration reports and in collaboration with unit leadership plan strategically for performance improvement. Ability to travel to training event sites as needed within the 5 boroughs. Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and professional writing.  SALARY AND BENEFITS FPHNYC offers a comprehensive benefit package.
