SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Ammonia Refrigeration /Maintenance Technician works in a team environment as an important role to maintain and keep the RKF Refrigeration System. This position will work in conjunction with the Maintenance lead and Plant Engineer and Operations to achieve a line goals in quality, OEE, and machine reliability. This position as well is responsible to provide the Technical knowledge in Ammonia and act as liaison between Engineering and Ammonia Maintenance. This Maintenance Technician will need to provide the Mechanical and electrical experience necessary for the Field Service Installation, Maintenance, Ammonia Refrigeration and Repairs and to assist in developing root cause procedures and systems to generate better reporting on prioritizing work on downtime. The Ammonia Refrigeration Technician must have the ability to perform all the tasks listed below.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Strong ability to troubleshoot machinery electrically, Ammonia refrigeration and Mechanical.
· Promote Safety and a safe working environment.
· Conduct mechanical overhauls and repairs on Air Compressors, Ammonia Compressors and other equipment.
· Report Job progress and challenges/solutions to the General Manager, Plant Engineer, Project Manager, Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Supervisor on a regular and timely basis.
· Must work closely with Plant Engineer and other leaders.
· Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees.
· Must be able to recognize and establish priorities.
· Completion of inter-personal skills training.
· Ability to develop Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s).
· Understand Walmart and FPL policies and Procedures.
· Ability to perform safety inspections.
· Ensure employees follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
· Compile, analyze and report data.
· Ability to successfully co-ordinate several Ammonia Refrigeration and Maintenance activities concurrently.
· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions.
· Ability to locate/retrieve spare parts when needed.
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as; safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
· Must be dependable, self-motivated, and must maintain an acceptable attendance record.
· Understand all jobs throughout the plant and be able to assist other Ammonia Technician (Operation and Maintenance).
· Ability to obtain basic computer skills.
· Communicate effectively with Employees, Team Leaders, Supervisors, Production, QA and Management.
· Ability to give out assignments, follow-up and drive completion of said assignments.
· Must be experience in EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) practices, including making work orders, looking for parts in the crib, looking up PM’s.
· Utilize experience and expertise with the Refrigeration System.
· Work in conjunction of Maintenance Planner to maintain adequate tracking with work order status and MRO parts required and committed to the repairs and/or improvements.
· Submit accurate time sheets and cost reports on a timely basis as required.
· Understand the troubleshooting steps to improve or repair a Programmable Logic Control System.
· Take an active role in the Plant Project.
· Other duties to be assigned.
Experience
At least 2 years Industrial refrigeration, Boiler systems, HVAC systems, Water Systems, steam and condensation
systems, compressed air systems
Skills, Competencies, & Other Qualifications
1. Good knowledge of NH3 and Freon systems
2. Knowledge of boiler treatment and operation
3. Good troubleshooting skills
4. Safety-oriented in all operations
5. Welding
