What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cattle Scheduler/Dispatcher position at FPL FOOD, LLC?
JOB PURPOSE
The Cattle Scheduler/Dispatcher is responsible for managing the scheduling, daily cattle supply, and cattle inventory for FPL to insure efficient operation of the Main Plant.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Expedite workflow and coordinate changes in schedules for live cattle.
- Managing Daily and Weekly purchased cattle inventories.
- Communicating with Cattle Suppliers, Cattle Transporters, Cattle Buyers and Plant.
- Responsible for dispatching cattle drivers.
- Work with drivers to receive timely and accurate information on loads hauled.
- Troubleshoot logistic challenges.
- Promptly handle calls and requests from drivers and management.
- Tracks freight invoicing and freight cost associated with changing fuel costs and industry variables.
- Provide necessary input to supply planner for assigned product or location.
- Maintain data relevant to production scheduling activities including planning calendars, material data and location data.
Education
- High school diploma, secondary education level or equivalent
Experience
- Minimum 2 years scheduling and dispatching of trucks
- Minimum 2 years inventory management
- Knowledge and Skills
- Intermediate to advanced in Microsoft Excel
- Understanding of US Driving Map
