Job Description:
Join our team at Fire Protection Specialists, where we take pride in providing exceptional fire protection services to our clients. We are seeking a Fire Extinguisher Technician to inspect, service, repair, and install portable fire extinguishers at various customer locations.
If you’re a detail-oriented individual with strong problem-solving skills, we’ll provide the training and tools you need to succeed in this critical role.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect, service, recharge, repair, and install fire extinguishers following NFPA standards and manufacturer guidelines.
- Perform routine maintenance to ensure extinguishers are in compliance with safety codes.
- Document service and inspection reports accurately using provided software or forms.
- Educate customers on the proper use and care of fire extinguishers.
- Assist with inventory management, ensuring accurate stock levels of parts and equipment.
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (required).
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a fire extinguisher technician or in a similar role (maintenance etc.)
- Familiarity with NFPA 10 standards and fire extinguisher types.
- State or manufacturer certifications (preferred but not required; training provided).
