Job Summary
As a Hood Cleaning Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining fire safety by professionally cleaning commercial kitchen exhaust systems. This position involves working in restaurants, schools, and other facilities to clean and maintain kitchen exhaust hoods, ductwork, and fans to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of kitchen exhaust systems, including hoods, filters, ducts, and fans.
- Safely operate cleaning equipment such as power washers, scrapers, and cleaning agents.
- Inspect exhaust systems for cleanliness and potential fire hazards.
- Complete job reports and maintain accurate records of services performed.
- Follow safety protocols and comply with NFPA 96 and other applicable standards.
- Interact professionally with clients and provide excellent customer service.
- Work as part of a team to meet daily service schedules.
- Assist with equipment setup and breakdown at job sites.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety guidelines.
- Physical stamina to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs), climb ladders, and perform manual labor.
- Previous experience in hood cleaning or fire protection services is a plus but not required – training will be provided.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $18.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
