Job Summary
As the Controller at Fractal, you will play a crucial role in overseeing our financial operations and systems. You will be responsible for managing our accounting functions, financial reporting, and implementing robust financial systems and controls. This role is pivotal in supporting Fractal's growth by providing accurate financial insights and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee accounts receivable (AR), invoicing processes, and accounting functions
- Develop and maintain financial systems, including accounts and payroll
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports for management and stakeholders
- Manage cash flow and lead budgeting processes
- Implement and maintain internal financial controls and ensure compliance with financial regulations
- Collaborate with leadership on financial planning and strategy
- Oversee financial audits and manage relationships with auditors and financial partners
- Provide financial analysis to support decision-making
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures
- Ensure tax compliance and manage tax planning and reporting
- Lead and develop the finance team as the company grows
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Experience with financial systems implementation and management
- Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Experience in the fintech, SaaS, or payments industry
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or MBA
- CPA certification
- Knowledge of revenue recognition principles for payment businesses
- Experience with high-growth startups or rapidly scaling companies
- Familiarity with cloud-based accounting and financial management tools
Working Conditions
This is a hybrid position working remotely from our Cincinnati, Ohio office. You would be expected to be in the office 25% of the time.
