You have completed a BS in Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering degree. You may have also obtained an advanced degree in similar fields. You have worked in an engineering role for at least 3 years and are ready to join Framatome and help deliver clean, safe energy and advance nuclear technology.

You may have also acquired the following skills:

  • Mechanical or general component design experience, including experience using SolidWorks
  • Design to Manufacturing experience (e.g. drawing and specification development optimized for intended fabrication process)
  • Familiarity with ASME code welding, NRC safety and quality codes, etc.
  • Good communication skills including the ability to comprehend and convey technical data
  • Continues improvement and strong problem identification & resolution skills

Your Opportunity

This full-time role is about making an impact on people's lives and the future of clean energy. You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As a Design Engineer in Nuclear Instrumentation in Lynchburg, VA, you will be part of the proven team in the ICTNMU Business Line in the Instrumentation & Control Business Unit. Your work will include:

  • Perform broad, complex engineering assignments under framework of nuclear safety and quality codes.
  • Provide advanced technical support related to planning, designing, and analyzing encore detectors and other nuclear instrumentation components.
  • Focus on design to manufacturing techniques, to ensure product designs are optimized for fabrication.
  • Utilize and captures lessons learned and implements design improvements.
  • Provide engineering advice and displays technical competence requiring minimal direction from higher level engineering staff.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to internal customers and can communicate technical analysis to external customers.

Your Total Rewards Package

The range of base salary for the position is between $83,000 - $113,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
