What You've Accomplished

You have completed a BS in Welding Engineering, Welding Engineering Technology, Materials Engineering, Materials Science Engineering or related degree program. You may have also obtained an advanced degree in similar fields. You have strong technical problem-solving abilities, interpersonal skills, excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills, have worked in an engineering role for at least 0-2 years and are ready to join Framatome and help deliver clean, safe energy and advance nuclear technology.

Your Opportunity

This full-time role is about making an impact on people's lives and the future of clean energy. You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As a Welding Engineer in Lynchburg, VA, you will be part of the proven team in the Component Replacement and Repair (CR&R) Department within the Nuclear Services Business Unit. The unit consists of the Component Repair Design, Welding Engineering, Operations, Tooling Engineering, Project Engineering and Project Management, Pump and Motor Services, and Metrology groups. The unit is responsible for component repair designs, installation procedures, and welding engineering support for all CR&R projects (Reactor vessel (RV) Control Rod Drive Mechanism nozzle repairs, Bottom Mounted Nozzle modifications, pressurizer nozzle repairs, structural weld overlays, control element drive mechanism canopy seal welding and replacement of steam generator, RV head, and pressurizers) and on occasion to outside company organizations, welding process development, repair contract project engineering, Steam Generating Team project welding engineering technical, administrative and field operations support. Your work will include:

• Testing, development, and support for procedure and personnel qualifications as well as field repair/construction solutions.
• Gain first hand experience with first-of-a-kind (FOAK) repair and plant modification solutions.
• The position primarily focuses on the use and improvement of the Gas Tungsten Arc, Shielded Metal Arc, and Gas Metal Arc welding processes for use on dissimilar metal, narrow groove, alloy steels, nickel based alloy and stainless steel welds.
• Work is primarily conducted in compliance with ASME Code requirements but may also utilize the AWS Codes.
• The position will consist of unique projects that may require working in groups and on-site engineering support.

Your Total Rewards Package

The range of base salary for the position is between $63,000 - $82,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
