Director of Elementary and Middle Schools

The Francis Howell School District is seeking a Director Elementary and Middle Schools to serve as part of the Academic Team and as a member of the District Leadership Team. The Director of Elementary and Middle Schools will coordinate all improvement efforts for the K-8 buildings, supervise the Vacation Station program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: facilitating regular meetings for building leaders, supporting and monitoring the school improvement process for elementary and middle schools, evaluating elementary and middle school principals, identifying and developing improvement goals for elementary and middle schools, developing federal program budgets and meeting state requirements, providing professional learning to elementary and middle school building leaders, problem solving issues at the elementary and middle school levels, overseeing all aspects of the Vacation Station program, and serving as a member of both the Academic Team and the District Leadership Team. A successful candidate must demonstrate strong communication skills, the ability to collaborate with various stakeholder groups, and experience in developing and successfully executing action plans.

Basic Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Education, or a related field (doctorate preferred)
• Successful teaching experience (minimum 5 years)
• Successful building principal experience (minimum 5 years)
• Successful district-level leadership experience is preferred (3 years ideal)
• Strong proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office software
• Ability to supervise others and provide coaching and feedback
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Strategic and action plan implementation and monitoring experience
• Demonstrate sound judgment, social competency, and resourcefulness
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong time management skills
• Ability to problem solve with a diverse group of stakeholders including teachers, parents, community members, and administrators
• Experience with school improvement efforts and proven success of increased data/achievement under leadership

Timeline:
Position Start date: July 1, 2025

Minimum Salary:
Salary commensurate with education and experience. Minimum salary of $125,000.
