- Health Screenings: Administer and coordinate health screenings such as vision, hearing, and blood pressure assessments.
- Patient Assessment: Assess and manage student health issues, including chronic conditions and emergencies.
- Health & Safety Issues: Identify and address safety and health concerns, including abuse, and refer students for further treatment as needed.
- Data Collection: Collect and document health data to support assessments and improve nursing practices.
- Communication: Report health and safety issues to the Nurse Coordinator and School Administrators.
- Health Plans: Develop and implement Individual Health Plans to address students' health needs.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate and confidential health records in compliance with legal requirements.
- Education & Training: Provide health education and care, including medication administration and specialized treatments.
- Emergency Response: Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care.
- Research: Research and stay updated on health topics to enhance knowledge and practices.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Experience: Relevant job-related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is preferred.
- Skills: Ability to manage health care projects, use relevant software, and maintain accurate records.
- Knowledge: Understanding of health standards, regulations, and practices.
- Abilities: Ability to handle diverse health situations, maintain confidentiality, and work with various stakeholders.
- Physical Demands: Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing. Frequent stooping, kneeling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally requires 25% sitting, 25% walking, and 50% standing. The job is performed in conditions with some exposure to risk of injury or illness.
