WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Assists billing in tracking non-paid claims, including researching information and documentation for insurance-related billing problems.
Assists patients, families, physicians and other referral sources via telephone with clinical issues, problems, and questions
Communicates with all referral sources to gain the necessary information to facilitate continuity of care and appropriate care of patients and clients including demographics, diagnoses, surgeries, hospital/ECF dates, physician's orders, and reimbursement or insurance information.
Completes appropriate referral forms and enters information into the computer.
Identifies and implements clinical review systems for all pay sources to include admissions, continued stay, and concurrent and retrospective reviews.
Documents interventions taken and orders received in EMR as indicated.
Investigates and determines initial patient benefits coverage for requested programs and services. This includes Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, grants, special contracts, charity, and fee structures.
Obtains managed care and insurance authorizations to determine the applicable coordination of benefits.
Schedules visits with field staff to assure that the frequency of visits are compliant with the plan of care.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma/GED - Required
2 Years Home Healthcare Experience- Preferred
