Job Summary:
Franciscan Health Michigan City is seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join the Behavioral Health Unit. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in behavioral health, strong social work skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team. This role requires a professional who can manage unpredictable patient behavior, including verbal and physical aggression, and ideally has de-escalation training or is willing to obtain it.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide clinical social work services to patients in the Behavioral Health Unit.
Work collaboratively with nurses, technicians, and healthcare providers.
Assess patient needs, develop treatment plans, and provide crisis intervention.
Maintain accurate documentation in the Epic EMR system.
Utilize de-escalation techniques when necessary to manage patient behavior.
Schedule & Work Environment:
Shift: Flexible 8-hour shifts between 7 AM – 6 PM.
Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours.
Weekend Shifts: Not required, but available as an option instead of a weekday shift.
Call Requirements: None.
Patient Ratios: 1:7 or 1:10.
Number of Beds: 14.
Required Qualifications:
Education & Certification: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
Experience: Minimum 3 years in behavioral health.
Skills: Strong social work and behavioral health expertise, with experience handling unpredictable patient behavior.
Preferred Qualifications:
De-escalation training (or willingness to obtain).
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Dress Code:
Scrub Color: Gray or professional street clothes.
Unacceptable Attire: Ripped/torn jeans, tank tops, open-toed shoes.
Additional Information:
First Day Instructions: Report to the main entrance.
EMR System: Epic.
Education Modules: May be required prior to the first day.
