POSITION OVERVIEW
This position is responsible for managing Franciscan’s data delivery function across quality outcomes and population health analytics. This covers several focus areas, including but not limited to clinical quality improvement, patient safety, clinical effectiveness, and patient experience (Quality Outcomes) as well as value-based care, care management, and ACO (Population Health).
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Examine and identify data patterns and trends to help answer business questions and improve decision making.Identify areas to increase efficiency and automation of data analysis processes.
Understand the department’s capabilities, possess knowledge of what data is available for analytics, and stay informed of where data is located to effectively guide staff and to establish realistic estimates of effort and time to complete tasks.
Build and manage new data tables that support data collection in the department, cross-channel data integration, data visualization, dashboards.
Evaluate analytics and program learning technologies in use in the business.
Further drives the collection of new data as well as the refinement of existing business data sources.
Utilize SQL, other languages and technologies for the purpose of extracting and processing data for the business’s analytical needs.
Partner with senior business executives and key stakeholders to constantly aid data governance across the business, improve the overall business performance, and communicate promptly to maintain relationships.
Tailor and convey technical messages in a clear and understandable manner to non-technical department staff and leaders, leading to business-wide improvement of data management, informed decision making, and ultimate improvement in performance.
Continuously evaluate the necessary technical, business, and analytical skills needed for coworker and department success, and coordinate with leadership and HR to create training opportunities to close any gaps.
Solve analytical issues through quantitative approaches and machine learning methods and uses advanced statistical methods, data mining techniques, and information retrieval.
Take initiative to mentor staff, guide them, help remove roadblocks promptly, enable them to be creative, and transform them to be problem solvers.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Health Sciences, or Related Field - Required
Experience managing data and reporting for publicly reported quality programs such as Hospital Star Ratings, Leapfrog, USNWR etc. - Highly desired
Solid understanding of quality and cost of care metrics in an acute care setting such as LOS, Readmissions, HAIs, Patient Experience etc. - Highly Desired
Understanding of CMS Medicare quality and reimbursement models in the context of performance measurement and benchmarking. - Highly Desired
Exposure to and understanding of value-based care models and data elements/metrics that represent quality and cost outcomes in an ACO covered population setting. - Highly Desired
Understanding of claims data and payor files in order to support decision-making for the ACO and clinic leadership. - Highly Desired
3 years Relevant work experience as analytics manager - Required
5 years of managing a team of business and technical data analysts across these two domains - Highly Preferred
7 years SAS, SQL, Tableau, and Power BI - Highly Preferred
7 years EPIC data models Clarity, Caboodle, Cogito (as required by role)- Preferred
