What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scheduler position at Franciscan Health?

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Schedule will be Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm.
Schedules surgeries, appointments, tests, and procedures specific to their physician practice in person or by phone, using Electronic Health Record; coordinates external vendors, multiple physicians, and surgery locations as required.
Maintains the scheduling system including maintain physician-specific schedules and coordinating with schedulers at the surgery site for time and physician-specific preferences. Verifies records are accurate and complete.
Coordinates insurance including verification of coverage, obtaining prior authorizations and educating the patient on benefits and out of pocket amounts.
Requests and verifies receipt of medical records, test results, and clearances for surgeries/procedures.
Calls patients on the patient recall list for follow-ups and mails recall letters to patients.
Processes refills through incoming calls, electronic requests or faxes, and sends to the nurse or provider for approval.
Provides back-up coverage to other non-clinical positions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required High School Diploma/GED
1 year Physician Office Required
