Position Summary
As an Infection Control Specialist and Educator, you will play a vital role in enhancing health standards by planning, developing, and implementing infection control programs, educational initiatives, and Quality Improvement projects. You will ensure compliance with all necessary state and federal regulations, including OSHA and Joint Commission Standards, while fostering a culture of safety within our community.
Education Duties and Responsibilities :
- Lead educational initiatives for staff within the community.
- Oversee the orientation and continual education of new hires.
- Provide comprehensive onboarding and training for new nursing staff and CNAs.
- Collaborate with educational institutions for clinical placements and programs.
- Develop and sustain a mentorship program to support staff growth.
- Engage in community outreach to build internship and clinical opportunities.
- Track compliance and participation in educational programs through our online system, managing competencies effectively.
Infection Control Duties and Responsibilities :
Establish and maintain an effective infection prevention / control program to mitigate infection risks.Act as the primary contact for all infection control matters and outbreak responses in the community.Stay updated with current state, federal, IDPH, CMS, and CDC guidelines.Review and revise the community’s infection control program, standards, policies, and procedures regularly.Monitor and document TB testing, vaccination records, and compliance.Deliver specialized education as needed in alignment with directives from the Director of Nursing.Essential Functions, Key Duties, & Responsibilities :
Design and implement required in-service training programs for OSHA, JCAHO, and state regulations.Conduct training sessions, ensuring compliance with safety procedures and protocols.Lead all infection control programming and serve as the community’s Infection Preventionist.Continuously evaluate and adhere to safety policies related to universal precautions and hazardous waste management.Be a proactive member of the Safety Committee and QAPI Committee, providing data analysis and reporting.Manage educational records, manuals, and resources relative to training programs.Work with Human Resources to maintain individual training compliance for all associates.Facilitate engaging in-service training sessions, adapting teaching methods for maximum effectiveness.Maintain professional relationships with all personnel to enhance collaborative communication.Approach all interactions with tact and professionalism, especially when dealing with residents and regulatory entities.Participate in nursing administration duties, with on-call responsibilities as needed.Perform other duties as assigned and adhere to all policies and protocols.Position Requirements
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
Licenses / Certifications : Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Experience : Minimum 3 years of clinical experience, preferably in nursing or long-term care.
Skills & Abilities :
Strong knowledge of nursing practices, regulations, and guidelines relevant to long-term care.High integrity and professionalism.Exceptional communication skills with the ability to lead change effectively.Capacity to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.Travel : Limited travel may be required for training purposes.

Sign-On Bonus : $2000.00
