We are seeking a highly skilled Infection Prevention Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing health programs, infection control processes, and staff educational initiatives. This role involves coordinating training for new hires, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and leading infection prevention strategies.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and an active RN license, along with strong communication and organizational skills to effectively manage educational programs and infection control efforts. The Infection Preventionist/Educator ensures all state and federal mandatory education, infection control, general health, safety training (OSHA), Joint Commission Standards, and community policies/initiatives are fully implemented.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement ongoing infection prevention/control programs to prevent, recognize, and control the onset/spread of infections.
- Primary contact for community for all infection control outbreaks, and prevention.
- Stays current and compliant with all State, Federal, IDPH, CMS, and CDC guidelines.
- Reviews/revises the community's infection prevention and control program, its standards, policies, and procedures annually and as needed for changes to the community assessment to ensure they are effective and in accordance with current standards of practice for preventing and controlling infections.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- 3 years of clinical experience; preferably in nursing/long-term care.
