What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Nursing Services position at Franciscan Sisters of the Poor - St. Clare Convent?
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced RN / Manager to join our team in the Sister's homelike care unit at St. Clare Convent. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing administration and will work with a team of nurses and assistants to provide around the clock oversight and palliative care. The Nursing Manager must be a hands on servant leader who values compassion, collaboration and service. This position is a full-time position with primarily a day schedule but would be on call for any nursing needs outside of those hours.
Responsibilities:
- Regularly assesses each Sister's status, condition and needs. Communicates with SFP Health Nurse, Community Minister, and medical providers as appropriate.
- Oversees and implements physician orders.
- Prepares and posts work schedules. Approves timekeeping, payroll and PTO in ADP for staff.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff
- Coordinate the overall activities of the floor with the assistance of staff and volunteers
- Develops, coordinates and implements plans, programs, services, protocols, procedures that effectively address the needs of the sisters.
- Attends and contributes updates of the floor to the Campus Managers meetings.
- Position Requirements:
- Must have RN Licensure in the state of Ohio/BSN Preferred
- 10 years of Nursing experience / with previous Supervisory experience.
- Must have Long-Term care experience.
- Exceptional leadership skills to guide the nursing team effectively
- Experience in Geriatric Nursing
