The Pickleball Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of comprehensive pickleball programming, including leagues, tournaments, clinics, camps, and community events. The ideal candidate will collaborate with the local pickleball community, including players of all ages and skill levels, as well as organizations such as John Brown University and Upward Fitness. This role requires both pickleball expertise and strong organizational and leadership skills to ensure high-quality programming that aligns with the City of Siloam Springs’ goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Management:
- Plan, organize, and oversee pickleball leagues, tournaments, clinics, summer camps, and open play sessions.
- Ensure structured open-play sessions are facilitated every Tuesday night from April through September.
- Limit league play to no more than two nights per week, excluding weekends, as per City guidelines.
- Coordinate one tournament per month, with at least six weeks' notice to the City.
- Community Engagement:
- Build relationships with local pickleball players, clubs, and organizations to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment.
- Promote programming through social media, the City’s website, and community events.
- Ensure programming is accessible to all community members, regardless of age, skill level, or socioeconomic background.
- Operational Responsibilities:
- Hire, train, and supervise assistant coaches, referees, and event staff.
- Maintain necessary equipment, including paddles, balls, and ball machines.
- Ensure courts are clean and well-maintained, including daily tasks like blowing courts and trash pickup as needed.
- Administrative Duties:
- Manage participant registrations using the company’s online system, with links shared on the City’s website.
- Recommend fees for lessons, clinics, leagues, and tournaments.
- Provide monthly reports on participation, revenue, and key performance indicators.
- Qualifications
- Strong background in pickleball, with competitive playing experience preferred.
- Coaching certification from a recognized pickleball organization (or willingness to obtain certification).
- Proven experience in sports program management, event coordination, or coaching.
- Strong ties to the Siloam Springs community and familiarity with local pickleball culture is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays as needed.
