What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Operations Supervisor position at Frandsen Financial Corporation?
This position will involve the supervision of the mortgage processing and closing teams. The mortgage department consists of residential 1-4 family mortgage loans from Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the FHLB Mortgage Partnership Finance Program, all other secondary market investors, and in-house portfolio loans. Duties will involve customer service, preparing & monitoring regulatory disclosures, managing staff members in two locations, preparing & interpreting mortgage banking policies while analyzing property and income documentation, and other duties involved in the processing & closing of the mortgage loans. The supervisor will contribute to the day-to-day functions and team’s essential duties and responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervision of the mortgage processing team and mortgage closing teams.
- Contribution to the day-to-day processing and closing mortgage files alongside team.
- Continuously striving to maintain expert knowledge within the mortgage banking industry and regulatory compliance areas.
- Product expert in the following loan types; Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHLB, FHA, VA, RD, and in-house portfolio loans, as well as modifications and renewals.
- Maintain and demonstrate leadership through coaching and leading by example and creating a healthy and positive culture.
- Conduct monthly 1on1s and annul reviews with processing and closing team.
- Lead team meetings and strive to find solutions and efficiencies within mortgage operations.
Experience:
- 5 years in a role related to lending including, but not limited to: mortgage processing, underwriting, or mortgage closing.
- Prior leadership role such as Senior, Team Lead, or Supervisor.
Education:
- Associate Degree (AA) or higher from an accredited college or university. May be substituted with work related experience of a minimum of 5-7 years of loan background in mortgage area.
Preferred Skills:
- High passion for leadership and coaching with the ability to lead through influence rather than position.
- Strong communication skills.
- Superior strength in problem-solving and looking for ways to create efficiencies within processing and closing.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of various mortgage processing/closing software, preferably Encompass.
Salary range is $60,000 - $65,000 depending on experience.
