What are the responsibilities and job description for the Area Sales Manager (Columbia, Dane, and Jefferson County) position at Frank Beverage Group?
The Area Sales Manager works directly with sales representatives and retailers to grow sales and expand product placement in on or off-premise channels in assigned territories.
Responsibilities include:
- Work the key on and off-Premise accounts developing relationships, building brand presence and sales in assigned area
- Secures and expands distribution in assigned trade channels by setting benchmarks and calling on accounts both independently and with sales representatives
- Manage a sales team including merchandisers
- Coaches, trains, and motivates sales representatives to achieve monthly priorities, quarterly volume goals, and distribution and feature/promotion goals.
- Review monthly on and off-premise priorities to identify opportunities, underperforming accounts, or potential loss of distribution within an account
- Assist in creating local brand programs.
- Achieve assigned goals (distribution / volume) in respective selling area
- Execute brand marketing plans
- Conduct sales meetings and product presentations
- Provide consistent and regular communication to sales team
- Work with supplier representatives and assist in meeting supplier goals
- Maintain knowledge of product portfolio and promotions
- Manage expenses to budget
- Participate in shelf resets
- Sell, merchandise, and build displays
- Prepare and present staff trainings in key accounts
- Sell, budget, and coordinate the execution of special events in the designated area
- Attend on premise promotions as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Education and Experience include:
- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
- On or off-premise experience and previous sales experience within the beverage industry highly preferred
- Management experience preferred
- Understanding of shelf management preferred

Other actions include:
- A valid driver's license, reliable transportation and proof of insurance is required
- Ability to acquire and maintain necessary liquor salespersons permit
- Ability to acquire and maintain any other permits, licenses, etc. that may be required by the Company
- May need to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds on a regular basis and up to 160 pounds on an occasional basis
- Ability to crouch reach and grasp
- Ability to sit in car for extended periods
