General Labor/Grinder
JENNMAR Services is currently searching for a Second Shift General Laborer in Bluefield, VA and the surrounding area. The primary responsibility will be to perform precision smoothing, polishing or grinding of steel objects.
Job Responsibilities of Labor:
- Set up and operate standard manufacturing equipment
- Deburr, buff or polish materials to required specifications
- Examine materials to ensure conformance to establish standards
- Examine work pieces for defects or malformations
- Report all defects in materials to supervisor
- Ensure that safety devices are operative
- Comply with all company safety policies and regulations
- Complete given work within timeframe supplied by the company
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by employer
Preferred Skills and Qualifications of Labor:
- MUST BE ABLE TO READ A TAPE MEASURE TO THE 16TH.
- Understanding of manufacturing tools and their uses
- Previous grinding experience is expected/preferred
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Ability and willingness to follow directions as well as the ability to work independently
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Positive attitude and the ability to work well with others
- Ability to work in an environment that can possibly have noise constraints
- Ability to stand for significant periods of time
- Proper use of safety equipment and required PPE
- Ability to lift and maneuver a maximum of 50 pounds
