POSITION:Crossing Guard @ TMS
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:Principal or designee
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Graduation from high school or GED.
2.Required stamina, enthusiasm and the ability to communicate and work directly with students and the general public.
3.Must pass state/national criminal background check and pre-employment physical on offer of employment.
4.Must be dependable.
5.Must have the ability to work independently.
6.Demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities of the job as evidenced through work-related experience and the hiring process.
7.Training provided upon hire and periodic additional training and assessment will be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Assist students in crossing the streets going to and from school at an assigned post.
2.Direct traffic at the school crossing.
3.Provide a safe crosswalk for all students.
4.Enforce all district, school, and city policies and rules in the operation of the crosswalk.
5.Abide by and enforce all laws dealing with pedestrian traffic at the crosswalk.
6.Report all problems and safety concerns arising at the crosswalk to immediate supervisor.
7.Check in at the assigned school every morning and afternoon prior to starting shift.
8.Perform related work as required. 7:20 - 8:15 in the morning and 2:20 - 3:15 in the afternoon.
EQUIPMENT:Jacket, Vest, and Stop Sign
PHYSICAL/MENTAL
REQUIREMENTS: Standing, walking, turning, talking, hearing, seeing and the ability to move quickly when necessary.
WORKING
CONDITIONS: Exposure to weather and traffic conditions. Interaction with students and general public.
TERMS OF
EMPLOYMENT: Ten months, approximately 1 hour/day, $25/day
