ESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Parts Manager, the Shipping & Receiving Clerk will contribute to the success of our dealership by receiving incoming materials, products, and supplies and entering data in our system. This position will also prepare items for shipment, restock shelves, and help keep a neat and orderly parts storage area.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Determining shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
- Examining contents of incoming or outgoing shipments, and comparing with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy.
- Preparing documents, such as bills of lading, and shipping orders.
- Corresponding with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications.
- Requisitioning and storing shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
- Assisting in keeping parts area clean, and orderly.
- Restocking of inventory.
- Operating forklift, after required training and certification.
- Assisting other parts counter staff as needed.
- May assist with parts delivery and inventory counts.
- Pull parts for wholesale customers and run parts to the service shop occasionally.
- Keeping current on new products and product updates.
- May perform other duties as assigned by ownership, upper management, and/or immediate supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS:
Experience, Education, or Skills Required:
- Dealership shipping and receiving experience preferred but not required.
- Must be able to work early in the morning.
- Must be able to multi task and take orders from different directions.
- Must always maintain a positive good attitude.
- Must have the ability to know work with numbers and sequences.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Must have good phone and customer service skills.
- Must be able to work alone at times with little supervision.
