Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Deli Prep Cook/Grill Cook to join our team. As a Cook at Franks Bake Shop, you will be responsible for preparing and grilling a variety of deli meats, cheeses, salads, and sandwiches while maintaining high standards of quality, cleanliness, and food safety. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and people, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and slice deli meats, cheeses, and other products according to specifications.
- Prepare salads, dressings, house made condiments, and other deli items as required.
- Prepare and package customer catering orders.
- Assemble sandwiches and other deli items, ensuring the highest level of presentation and taste.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including prepping and sanitizing all surfaces and tools.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures to ensure food is handled safely and hygienically.
- Stock and organize deli ingredients, ensuring proper storage and inventory management.
- Assist in managing product rotation to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
- Support the deli team in meeting customer demands during peak hours.
- Adhere to recipes, portion control standards, and food presentation guidelines.
- Operate deli equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist with the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen and food preparation areas.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a deli, kitchen, or food preparation role preferred.
- Basic knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once.
- Excellent attention to detail and a passion for food quality.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
- Flexible and willing to adapt to changing tasks and responsibilities.
