Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bakery Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support the daily operations of the bakery, ensuring that our products are prepared and presented to the highest standards. Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of baked goods, including donuts, pastries, cookies and pies, following established recipes and guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while ensuring proper usage and maintenance.
- Help with inventory management by tracking ingredients and supplies, ensuring stock levels are maintained.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers at the café counter, answering questions about products, and taking orders.
- Handle cash transactions accurately using a cash register, including cash handling and retail math skills for processing payments.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
- Assist in merchandising bakery items to enhance visual appeal and promote sales.
Qualifications
- Highschool Diploma or equivalent
- Current Food Handler's License
- Previous experience in a culinary or food service environment is preferred but not required.
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a busy setting.
- Knowledge of sanitation practices and food safety regulations is essential.
- Experience with cash handling and familiarity with retail math is beneficial.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- A passion for baking and an eagerness to learn new techniques in the kitchen environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50lbs.
