About the job
SUMMARY
Responsible for directing the day-to-day activities of the Centralized Logistics Department. Logistics will advance the current logistics programs, increase service to our customers, decrease cost, and improve simplicity. Ensures timely and accurate delivery of goods. Responsible for designing and implementing improved process or operational policies.
Your tasks
- Managing all aspects of the Centralized Logistics Department (multiple Franke North America business units) to include but not limited to freight quoting, problem solving, freight auditing (internal and external), freight payment, claims processing, drop ship processing, data entry of non-Connect Ship orders, shipped not invoiced monitoring, and international shipping coordination
- Directing month end freight accrual
- Directing a proactive tracking system
- Overseeing freight routings for all shipping locations
- Pulling, processing, and/or reviewing daily reports as necessary
- Coordinating and assisting with the appropriate departments(s) and/or person(s) to ensure customer requests and/or needs are met
- Directing and implementing strategic plans to accommodate corporate goals
- Implementing standards, policies, and procedures in the logistics department that align with department and corporate goals
- Developing and maintaining SOP’s for the Logistics Department
- Overseeing Hazmat/Dangerous Goods compliance, training, procedures, and implementation of changes
- Coordinating U.S. Customs clearance for international shipments
- Overseeing full truck and less than truckload scheduling to reduce cost and improve service
- Improving the collection, reporting, and distribution of shipping data
- Coordinates, with Human Resources, all aspects of employee relations including but not limited to, employee interviewing, hiring, coaching, counseling, disciplinary action, complaints, scheduling, training and development, etc.
- Reliable attendance is a must

- Intermediate Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Intermediate Mathematical Skills - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Intermediate Reasoning Skills - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Computer Skills - MS Word, MS Excel, PBS, Connectship
- BS/BA Degree (Experience may substitute for education)
- 5 yrs. Experience in Import/Export
- Directly supervises staff
