What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cabana Server position at FRANKENMUTH BAVARIAN INN LODGE?
Hours: 12 Hour shift 2-3 Days per week tipped position.
Earliest beginning shift is 9am and the latest end time is 10pm. Hours vary based on Cabana rentals.
- must be willing to work weekends, weekdays, and holidays.
FUNCTION:
Responsible for the setting up and preparation of all Cabanas and Premium Seating in the Waterpark as well as back of the house service areas. Will assist with setting up the private banquet area, the service of food and beverages to customers, collecting money, attending all Waterpark Food and Beverage meetings on a monthly basis and general cleaning up of the Cabanas, Premium Seating, and back of the house service areas, gives prompt and professional service to guests. Will help other departments when needed.
WORK PERFORMED:
1. Prepares for guest arrival in Cabanas, Premium seating, or private banquet area.
a. Ensures proper guest name is on the corresponding cabana
b. Fills Refrigerator in cabanas with appropriate amount of water
c. Delivers and pre ordered Food and Beverage to the appropriate Cabana prior to guest arrival
d. Meets Cabana guests at the front and escorts them to the appropriate Cabana or Premium seating area.
2. Serves Food and Beverage to guests throughout their stay and collects payment afterwords
a. Promotes menus, suggests drinks and appetizers, takes order and serves promptly
3. Is familiar with menu and preparation of meals so they are able to answer any guest questions during the ordering process
4. Rings up all orders on Agilysys.
a. Has knowledge of POS systems, terminals and tablets, and has the ability to cash out any type of payment
i. RFID, Credit Cards, Rooms Charge, Cash, Gift Cards, Perks Cards
5. Serves all meals in appropriate containers and provides each Cabana and Premium seating area with condiment bucket for their meals
6. Ensures the proper amount of plastic ware is served to each Cabana or Premium Seating area.
7. Pre-Busses all Cabanas to keep them looking neat and tidy throughout the guests stay.
8. Is familiar with server banking and is able to keep track of all receipts throughout the day to ensure accurate reporting at the end of the shift.
9. Administers all sales of alcoholic beverages in accordance to Michigan law and the policies of the Bavarian Inn Lodge. Does not serve alcohol to obviously intoxicated guests. Checks all ID’s for legal drinking age.
10. Resets all Cabanas and Premium seating areas for the next day. Cleans and sanitizes areas in preparation for next guests
11. Refills condiments regularly including; Salt and pepper shakers, Ketchup, Mustard, Mayo. Wipes down and sanitizes all condiments at the end of the shift.
12. Promotes other areas in the facility to generate sales
13. Will ask for assistance when needed to maintain proper levels of service
14. Works in a safe manner at all times and eliminates or reports all unsafe conditions to management when necessary.
15. Performs other duties as necessary
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
18 years or older.
Ability to stand and walk continually.
Ability to lift trays and other containers of moderate weights up to 50 #; according to training procedures.
Ability to work different schedules and attend monthly and corporate meetings.
