HOURS:
FULL TIME: 5-6 days per week; 45 hours per week (average).
Earliest shift is 12:00 p.m., latest shift is out at 3:00 a.m.
Must be available weekdays, evenings, weekends and holidays.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for the overall functions of the Lounge. Orders all supplies and merchandise needed to operate efficiently and to maintain sales. Inventories all bar items on a periodic basis to check bar stock levels, takes monthly inventories, prepare records and reports for Management meetings. Schedules, supervises and trains all Lounge personnel, upholds and enforces all policies of the Bavarian Inn Lodge and the liquor laws of the State of Michigan and the food sanitation laws of the Department of Health, Documents performance of employees for reviews and evaluations to ensure a professional and motivated staff. Develops ways to promote sales, implements ways to insure guest satisfaction, insures the safety of our guests, employees and security of all inventories and money, experiments with new ideas or menu items for monthly specials or events, responsible for requisitioning new employees, scheduling and training of all Lounge staff and keeping training materials up-to-date, keeps equipment in good repair, responsible for maintaining desired cost of goods and labor.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree or equivalent in experience. Previous management experience desired. Excellent math and report writing skills, knowledge of beer, wine and liquor from brewing or distillation to final service, understanding of inventory, costing, pricing and ordering. Physical ability to maneuver and lift kegs of beer, the ability to be on your feet for 10-12 hours a day continuously, and the ability to work in high heat and humidity of the outside. Communicative skill, managerial and training capabilities. Background of dealing and handling the public with diplomacy. Pleasing personality and appearance.
