What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner position at FRANKENMUTH MEDICAL ASSOCIATES PLLC?
Currently seeking an experienced a family medicine Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for an opportunity in Frankenmuth and Saginaw township.
The provider will be working largely independently - i.e. they must have broad clinical experience and they must be comfortable working without direct physician supervision, however the collaborating physician is always available by phone.
The provider will perform physical exams, facilitate clinical care, and be responsible for daily operations at their site.
Responsibilities:
Obtain Medical History and formulate appropriate HPI.
Perform physical examinations.
Formulate a differential diagnosis.
Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests and imaging.
Communicate diagnosis and treatment plans effectively.
Prescribe appropriate medications; formulate treatment plans.
Educate patients and families regarding medical illness/prevention/treatment,
Efficiently perform basic procedures (including but not limited to):
- Joint Injections
- Mole/Skin Tag removals
- Suturing
- I & D abscess
- Foreign body removal
- ECG / X-RAY interpretation
Responsible for proper and complete documentation via EMR.
Responsible for reviewing chart for thoroughness and proper billing/coding.
Delivers exemplary medical care in an efficient/expedited manner while acting both legally and ethically in manner.
Maintains a positive work attitude which contributes to a clinically productive atmosphere.
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) OR Master's prepared Registered Nurse with board certification in Family Medicine
- Must be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant in the state of Michigan
- Must hold active DEA license
- ACLS/BLS preferred
- DOT Medical Examiner certification preferred
