Overview: The Support Services Assistant is responsible for creating a positive environment and ensuring smooth operation, data entry and compliance adherence of the Support Services departments (School Counseling, ESE, Schoolwide Discipline) at Franklin Academy. The position provides secretarial and administrative support to the aforementioned departments and communicates information to students, parents, staff, and/or other entities (including the school district and state).
Employment Schedule: 10-months, full-time
Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential functions of the position may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Responsible for supporting the counseling, ESE and administrative team with respect to data entry, confidentially communicating and communicating with various stakeholders.
- Timely compliance of compiling and sending relevant materials to district, state and other entities.
- Attend to parents, students, staff, and visitors, providing polite and professional assistance via phone, mail, and e-mail, and generally being a helpful and positive presence in the workplace.
- Work on projects as assigned in support of the departments.
- Manage large amounts of data, research and interpret records, detect errors, and make the necessary corrections.
- Look for ways to improve and promote quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
- Develops processes that promote organization and attention to detail to effectively prioritize multiple assignments
- Other duties as directed by the principal
Requirements
Job Requirements:
- Master multi-tasker with excellent communication skills and an upbeat attitude
- Is extremely organized, process driven, and detail oriented.
- Takes initiative and is resourceful in problem solving.
- Positive interpersonal skills and can work well on a team; has the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Student Information System (SIS), TERMS (Broward), PowerSchool and email communications.
- High school degree or equivalent
- Clerical experience: 2 years (Preferred)
- Customer Service: 2 years (Preferred)
- Spanish (Preferred)
- Successful results of criminal and employment background check and drug testing.
