Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures, providing necessary support and care for animals.
- Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis, to assist in diagnosing health issues.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals during their stay at the clinic or hospital.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Provide education to pet owners on animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
- Manage kennel duties, including cleaning and maintaining animal housing areas.
- Utilize X-Ray equipment safely and effectively when required.
- Assist with dental procedures, understanding dental terminology related to animal care.
- Engage in pet grooming tasks as needed.
Experience
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- Proficiency in animal care practices with hands-on experience in kennel management.
- Knowledge of animal husbandry principles to ensure proper care of various species.
- Experience with dog handling techniques and basic dog training methods is preferred.
- Familiarity with animal anatomy and physiology to assist in medical assessments.
- Understanding of dental terminology related to veterinary practices is beneficial.
- Previous experience in a veterinary setting or relevant certifications are advantageous.
