Job Description
This position is responsible for promoting and sustaining the safety of students and staff members. The successful candidate will assist administrative staff in enforcing policies and procedures for safe and orderly schools at the building level.
Responsibilities
- Monitor school premises during class hours to deter undesirable actions.
- Patrol parking lots and school grounds to detect unauthorized persons or vehicles.
- Assist administrators and staff in crisis and emergency situations.
- Supervise and direct pupil movement during class changes.
- Identify, apprehend, and detain unauthorized persons who may be in the building or on school grounds.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Two years of college with coursework in law enforcement or security field preferred.
- Completion of some college-level courses in area of security, crowd management, non-crisis intervention, or law enforcement preferred.
